Archaeological journals in Catalonia. The contribution of Cota Zero

Anna Gómez Bach, Walter Cruells

The role of archaeological journals in Catalonia should be understood in the framework of a process of consolidation and professionalization of archaeological activity. In this context the existence of channels that offer a faster distribution than traditional paper publications (monographs, miscellaneous works, etc.) allows the creation and spread in Catalan of a variety of different publications of historical, archaeological, artistic and scientific interest. In this sense, the trajectory of a journal such as Cota Zero, with 25 published issues, allows us to understand and assess the main challenges and constraints attained during the last 30 years linked to the dissemination of Catalonian archaeology.
