Two dumps from the early fifth century AD in the port suburb of Tarraco

Ada Lasheras González

Archaeologists’ interest in the Roman port of Tarraco and its suburb has recently been renewed, particularly since the multiple excavations that took place in this area during the 1990s. Nevertheless, specific detailed studies of this interesting and large sector are still required. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the knowledge of it by studying the pottery from two domestic dumps located on the so-called Plot 22B (Av. de Vidal i Barraquer, 44-46 - C. de Felip Pedrell, 12) and situated chronologically in the early fifth century AD, a time when there was also major socioeconomic and urban boom in the suburb.
